With reference to paragraph 4 of my despatch No.400 of the 11th July, 1934, and to your despatch No.333
of 4th September, 1934, I have the honour to inform you that 34
owing to the late arrival from England of the fittings
required in connection with the installation of the hot water
system to the Maternity block of the Victoria Hospital it
has not been possible to complete this work during 1934.
2.
No provision has been made in the 1935 Estimates
and it will therefore be necessary to approach the Legislative Council during 1935 for a revote of approximately $11,000,
representing the amount of the accepted tender. I shall be
glad to receive your authority in due course for this
expenditure.
3.
Meanwhile as the work is in progress I have
allowed it to continue in anticipation of your approval. RAIN.
