With reference to my despatch No.520
33753/34 of the 5th October, 1934, on the subject of the

fumigation and disinfection of shipping, I have the
honour to request your authority under Colonial
Regulation 281 for the following supplementary
expenditure, subject to the approval of the Legis-

lative Council.

The running expenses for 1935 referred to in paragraph 5 of my despatch under reference are
now estimated to amount to $18,000. It is anticipated
that this expenditure will be covered by receipts.
This item was approved by the Finance
Committee on the 10th January, 1935, and I have authorised payments in anticipation of your approval.
It will be necessary at an early date to incur further expenditure estimated at $12,000 in
connection with the repair and maintenance of the
Clayton Barge and of the hulk 'Aldecoa'. This sum
covers the reconditioning of a steam disinfector,
