Out of the amount of $13,000 approved in the Estimates, a sum of $6,370 was required early in the year, to meet the Crown Agent's charges for the necessary replacements of Road Roller Wheels.
So that the normal upkeep may be proceeded with until the end of the
year, an additional sum of $4,000 is now found to be necessary.
A supplementary vote of $4,000 is therefore requested.

Owing to the increase in the number of Motor Lorries and Cars belonging to other departments the upkeep of which is now met from this vote, the provision of $30,000 has proved insufficient and a supplementary vote is requested for $6,000 which is the estimated requirement for necessary upkeep and repairs until the end of the year.

A supplementary vote of $100 is required to cover special repairs effected at a cost of $160 to the Peak School piano which was found on in- spection to be in need of a complete overhaul. This extra expenditure was not anticipated.
