No.347.
AIR MAIL.
Sir,
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
[36]
HONG KONG.
82
5th June, 1935.
M
I have the honour in accordance with
Colonial Regulation No.265 to request your sanction for the supplementary expenditure of $117,000 for the New 100 foot Road between Causeway Bay and Quarry Bay (now named King's Road), Head 34 Sub-head 16 of
the Estimates for 1935.
2.
Owing to unavoidable delays in 1934, there remains an unexpended balance of $147,816 in
respect of that year. Since the commencement of this year, however, work has progressed so rapidly that unless additional funds are provided, work will
come to a standstill before the end of the year. It is not anticipated that the total estimated cost of $910,000 will be exceeded.
3.
I should be glad to receive by telegraph your approval of this revote, subject to the sanction of the Legislative Council whose approval will then be
sought.
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient, humble servant,
lo.d. Southoch.
Officer Administering the Government.
