No. 391.
BY AIR MAIL.
Sir,
388
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONG KONG.
21st June, 1935.
I have the honour to request your sanction in accordance with Colonial Regulation 265 for supplementary
expenditure of $50,217 in respect of two additional second-
class coaches for the Kowloon-Canton Railway.
2. The sum of $99,200 was provided for this purpose, under Head 26, sub-head 41 of the Estimates for 1934, but
only local expenditure amounting to $13,089.69 in respect
of part payment for timber and bodywork building was incurred
during the year. Payment for the carriage underframes and
fittings which were ordered from England at a contract price of £3,646 was not made by the Crown Agents in 1934.
3. A revote of $50,217 is required to cover the balance of the expenditure and I should be glad to have your
sanction, by telegraph, to take a supplementary vote for this
sum.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient, humble servant,
Mo.D. Southothe
Officer Administering the Government.
