Sir,
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONG KONG,
6th November, 1935.
32
I have the honour, in accordance with
Colonial Regulation No.265, to request your sanction
for the supplementary expenditure of $13,600 for Typhoon
and Rainstorm Damages, Head 33, Sub-head 5 of the
Estimates for 1935.
2. Rainstorms during June, July and September
caused considerable damage to the roads, waterworks and
drainage systems of the Colony. The rainy season is now
over, so that no further expenditure should be incurred
in this connection, and in anticipation of your approval I have signed a Special Warrant for $13,600 to meet the
cost of the repairs already undertaken.
3. I should be glad to receive by telegraph
your sanction for this expenditure, subject to the approval
of the Legislative Council which will then be sought.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient, humble servant,
