I am etc. to acknowledge the
(13) receipt of your letter S. 33302 (F.5) of the
15th August in which it is proposed that
the Hong Kong Government should be
requested to provide land free of charge
for Royal Air Force purposes, and to
awn the attecation of
request you to acquaint the Air Council
to with the terms of the Hong Kong Defence
Contribution Ordinance No. 1 of 1901, the
relevant passages of which read as follows:
"3. A sum equivalent to twenty
per cent. of the Colonial revenues
shall be appropriated yearly to the
Imperial Government as a contribution
for the defence of the Colony
#5. The said percentage shall be
deemed to be a fixed contribution
payable by the Colony in full return
for the annual cost of the Imperial
garrison
