With reference to your letter 53514/35 of the 5th December, 1935, regarding the transfer of certain land at Kai Tak, Hong Kong, I am commanded by the Air Council to state, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that they are now in a position to agree to the Hong Kong Goverment being reimbursed the actual cost of forming and resuming the two additional areas which have been taken over. The necessary instructions have accordingly been given to the Air Officer Commanding, Royal Air Force Far East, to effect payment of the amounts of $149,370 and $ 726 referred to in paragraph 2 of your letter of the 2nd February, 1935.

A further letter will be addressed to you with regard to the question of the general conditions on which land at Hong Kong may be made available for Royal Air Force purposes.
