#ith reference to your despatch No. 55

of the 25th Merch, a copy of which together with

copies of the related correspondence has been for-

warded to His Vajesty's Principal Secretary of State

for Foreign Affairs, I have to inform you that the

informal and friendly representations which you

have made regarding the apparent intention of the

local military authorities to utilise the Canton

Kowloon Railway bridges at Sheklung in order to

join up the highways in that district are approved.
