In reply to your despatch No. 45 of the 14th
March regarding the recent building of a ramp by the
Kwangtung kilitry -uthorities for utilising the railway
bridges over the Esat kiver at She lung in order to
join up the highways in that district, I have the
honour to forward copy of a despatch No. 16 addressed
to me by His Excellency the Governor of Hong Kong on
the 15th karch and copy of my reply No. 20 of the 25th
March which gives a full account of the story and of the
action taken by me to bring pressure upon Marshal
Chi T'ang.
