With reference to Mr. Blunt's deanatch

from the Diplomatic Mission at Nanking No.17% of the 18th October 1984, (a copy of which was

transmitted to you in my despatch No.1480 of the

24th October 1984), enclosing a translation of an

instruction by the Minister of Railways that the

increased revenue derived by the Canton-Kowloon

Railway Adsinistration from the re-distribution

of the receipts from the Chinese and British sections

of the railway should be paid into a special account

and earmarked for the re-payment of the indebtedness

of the railway to the British and Chinese Corpora-

tion, I have the honour to report that I have been

informed by the representative in Chine of the Corpora- tion that a sum of H.K.#66,000 (equivalent to £5,614.

11. .) we remitted to the Commoration's London

account on the 11th September last by the Canton-Aɔv-

loon Railway Administration from the Special Reserve

Account in part payment of the Canton-Kowloon Railway
