With reference to your Memorandum (53531/7/35) of

the 14th ultimo regarding Miss Vera Volkova, I am directed

by Secretary Sir John Simon to enclose herewith, for the

information of Mr. Secretary Thomas, a copy of a letter

which has been received in this Department from Mr.H.F. Williams, and to say that the Colonial Secretary, Hong Kong

may be informed by telegram, that a visa may be granted to Miss Volkova marked "Authorised by H.0. No. V. 108 for

visit of two months to U.K. not for employment," on

valid Soviet passport with visa for return to Hong Kong.
