Bhie Report

File meld

to H. Rong

belag

I beg to transmit herewith the Passport Office file relating to a Miss Kathleen Rose Johnson, aged eighteen years, who is applying for passport facilities to travel to Hong Kong where she wishes to visit a Mr. T.K.Ting, C/o Shanghai Central Company, 54 Desvouex Road, Hong Kong, whom it is understood she hopes to marry.

It will be seen from the Police Report enclosed that Mr. Ting, a Chinese subject aged forty-four years, was in this country last year and that during his stay Miss Johnson associated with him.

In the circumstances, I should be glad, if the Secretary of State sees no objection, if enquiries could be made of the authorities in Hong Kong as to the desirability of granting the desired passport facilities to this young woman.

I am, Sir,

Your obedient Servant,

The Under-Secretary of State,

Colonial Office,

S.W.1.

Herbert Martin

Chief Passport Officer.
