advised that the sites, if purchased by Government, could
be partitioned into three separate lots and either wholly
or partly disposed of or retained for Government purposes,
in which connection the desirability of making a site
available for the rebuilding of the Peak School, which
cannot now be long delayed, has been borne in mind.
The matter has been considered by the Finance
Committee of the Legislative Council, which unanimously
recommends that Government should bid for the properties
up to the valuation figures and I accordingly request your
sanction in accordance with Colonial Regulation 265 to take
a supplementary vote for such expenditure, up to that maximum,
as may be incurred.

The purchase price will be paid into Court
and paid out again to Government and credited to Revenue as
