On afternoon of 22nd June I was supervising repairs to a pipe near Bridge No.3.
I was on the side of the nullah by the corner of the bridge.
I had workmen with me. Yung Sou was one of them
He was down in bed of nullah and I was on the bank.
I heard shouting and looked into the nullah.
I saw some children being washed down and told Young Sou to pick them out.
I saw one child coming downstream towards us.
Young Sou tried to rescue him but he was washed down by the water.
It was aboy I saw.
He lived in No.5 B Block.
As we were getting the boy out I saw some others being carried down the nullah.
It was as Young Sou was getting the boy out that I saw the others There were several people: I can't say how many.

On afternoon of 22nd June I was working near No.3 Bridge.
A European boy was washed down and Pun Tak called out to me to save him.
I tried to catch him but as soon as I caught him the water carried me down.
I managed to get on my feet and got the child out.
I carried him to Fun Tak.
We then took him home.

Two storied building by nullah.
On afternoon of 22nd June I was smoking by back door near the nullah.
I was in my uniform - white jacket, blue facings and red letters, white trousers.
I heard shouting from No.3 bridge about 3.15 or 3.20.
I looked into nullah and saw a European girl being washed down.
I climbed over railing and jumped into nullah.
I caught hold of her but I was carried away by water.
About a cheung lower I tried to get up but Bowles bumped into me.
I lost hold of the girl and was washed down in a sitting position. I took off my shoes.
Bowles was behind me and I didn't notice him.
I got onto dry land and ran down the nullah to the mouth of the tunnel.
There I caught hold of her again justpoutside the tunnel.
