HONG KONG.
BUILDINGS.
1.-New Government Civil Hospital, $800,000.-For the purchase and erection of steelwork and other stores, the continuance of the main Hospital Block and commencement of Sisters Quarters and other buildings.
2.-Upper Levels Police Station, $120,000.-The proposed building is sited between High Street and Hospital Road approximately on the area occupied by the old Police Training School. It will be five-stories in height and comprise, in addition to the usual station accommodation, four flats for European married officers, quarters for six single European officers, sixty Indians and sixty Chinese Policemen and interpreters. The amount provided is for the continuance of the main contract. 3.-Market: Bowrington Canal, $2,000.-The building will be of the two- storied open type with caretaker's quarters etc., and will consist of 24 stalls. The proposed site is on Canal Road West approximately opposite Tang Lung Street. It is anticipated that this building will be completed in 1934, the sum provided being for payment of Retention money. 4.-Market: Arsenal Street, $2,000.-The proposed site is at the junction of Arsenal Street and Lockhart Road. Accommodation will comprise 24 stalls and caretaker's quarters etc., in an open type building. The sum provided is for payment of Retention money,
5. Junior Technical School Laboratory Wing, $1,000.-This work will be completed in 1934, the sum provided being for payment of Retention
money.
6. New Quarters at Peak Wireless Station, $10,000.-A brick building of two-storied consisting of twelve single rooms with kitchen and lavatory premises to provide accommodation for Chinese operators.
7.-Trade School-Wood Road, Wanchai, $60,000.-This will be a brick building three stories in height containing workshops and class rooms for instruction in the engineering and building trades. A proportion of the total cost is being subscribed.
GENERAL WORKS.
8.-Roads, $40,000. This sum is required to provide for the road sur- facing, kerbing, channelling and footpaths of new roads as new buildings are erected or realignments of streets take place.
9.-Drainage-(a) Training Nullahs, $5,000.-This sum is required to meet the cost of training stream courses where this is neces- sary due to new development.
10.-
(b) Miscellaneous Drainage Works, $35,000.-Required to meet the cost of providing sewers and storm water drains for houses in newly developed areas.
