(g)
No marine rights shall be deemed to be granted.
On the relinquishment of the area by the Royal Air
Force to the Colonial Government any buildings
erected thereon by the Royal Air Force to be taken
over by the Colonial Government, if it so desires,
at an agreed valuation. If it does not so desire,
the buildings to be removed by the Royal Air Force
within six months of their giving notice to the
Colonial Government of their desire to relinquish
the area.
The sum quoted in (a) and (c) above is in
respect of the whole of the red area. In the event of a
smaller area being required this sum would be reduced
proportionately.
In this connection I am to add that by
this transfer this Government will forego a very considerable
amount in premia on land sales. It is therefore trusted
that the Royal Air Force will not ask for more of the red
area than is absolutely essential.
I should be glad to know whether you agree in
principle to these terms. In the event of the answer being
in the affirmative the offer will remain open for a period
of twelve months in the first instance.
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your obedient servant,
(Sgd.). Peel
Governor, Ac.
