With reference to your confidential
telegram A.48214/9 of the 14th September, 1933, on the
subject of the triangular area of land at Kai Tak, I
have the honour to inform you that subject to the
approval of the Secretary of State this Government is
prepared to transfer an area not larg r than the area
shown coloured red on the attached plan, subject to
the following terms and conditions:-
(a) the grant to be made on payment by the Royal
Air Force of the sum of $176,150.00 being
twenty-five times the annual Crown Rent which
would be reserved for the area if demised by
the Crown.
(b)
User of the area to be restricted to the
purposes of the Royal Air Force.
(c)
The area to be returned to the Colonial Covernment
on its ceasing to be required for those purposes
and if such return shall take place before the
expiry of a period of twenty-five years, a
proportionate part of the sum of $176,150.00 shall
be refunded to the Royal Air Force.
(a)
The grant in any event not to be for a longer
period than ninety-nine years from the 1st. July
1898, less the last three days thereof.
(e)
No Crown Rent shall be charged for the area.
