The only increase in staff contemplated as being likely as the school grows is four additional Chinese instructors.
It is possible that two University Trained Teachers may be required instead of interpreters, in which case the appropriate increased salary must be included.
The Scale appropriate to the Head of the Engineering Dept. who should hold a 1st Class Board of Trade Certificate for Marine Engineering would be £450

The Scale for the assistant, who should have specialised in electrical and automobile repair would be £400 20 - 600.
(It might be necessary to give this man a six months' course at home as it is extremely difficult to get two trades combined in one man of the type required.)
