Mr. Gent.
M Mayhew
At the last meeting of the Advisory Committee
on Education Miss Burstall drew attention to the
Hong Kong Education Report and, more particularly,
to the fact that there was no woman on the local
Board of Education. She was told in accordance
with permission that you had given me that an
officer of the Board of Education was going out
to take a survey.
Would it be in order for me to let Mr. Burney
know that the constitution of the Board of Education
is a subject which has attracted the attention of the
Committee and to say that no doubt it is one of the
subjects which will be engaging his attention?
Comments were also made on the unsatisfactory
form of the Hong Kong Report and I have already
placed on the report file a letter I wrote to the
Director of Education about it. An extract from
the minutes will, ofcourse, be placed on the Hong
Kong Education Report file.
