WORK DONE UNDER THE FOOD AND DRUGS ORDINANCE AND SECTION 82 OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND BUILDINGS ORDINANCE.
Samples of fresh milk were submitted for analysis under Section 12 of the Food and Drugs Ordinance, of which 53 were found to pass the standard and 2 to be below standard. In these two cases no action was taken as the amount of adulteration was so slight as to be in all probability due to accidental contamina-
tion.
2. The following samples of Food and Drugs were taken :-- Condensed milk 1, Bread 12, Butter 14, Cream 12,
Flour 5, Lard 1, Sugar 1 and Whisky 1.
Of the above, the samples of condensed milk and whisky failed to satisfy the legal requirements.
3. Under Section 82 of the Public Health and Buildings Ordinance the following foodstuffs were seized and destroyed.
Tinned Fruits 36 cases, Fruit 5 cases, Bread 12 loaves. Flour 109 bags and 52,890 lbs., Strawberries 53 cases, Raspberries 11 cases, Tinned Milk 129 tins, Wheat 7,112 lbs., Sugar 930 lbs., Biscuits 5 tins and 250 lbs., and Soda 112 lbs.

ANNEXE BY THE COLONIAL VETERINARY SURGEON.
1.
STAFF.
The Assistant Colonial Veterinary Surgeon was on long leave from 18th April until 2nd December.
GENERAL STATISTICS.
2. There was no great change in the number of animals slaughtered.
3. The number of animals admitted to Kennedy Town and Ma Tau Kok Slaughter Houses is shown in Table XVI.
4. The revenue derived from Slaughter Houses is shown in Table XVII.
