Appendix M (1).

REPORT OF THE HEAD OF THE SANITARY DEPARTMENT.

DEPARTMENTAL STAFF,

1. Senior Officers :

Mr. G. R. Sayer acted as Head of the Sanitary Depart- ment from 1st January to 18th January and from 14th December to 31st December. Mr. T. Megarry acted during the remainder of the year.

Mr. E. Himsworth acted as

Assistant Head of the Sanitary Department from 1st January to 21st February and from 14th December to 31st Decem- ber.

Mr. S. Balfour acted as Assistant Head of the Sanitary Department from 22nd February to 10th October.

Mr. K. Keen acted as Assistant Head of the Sanitary Department in addition to his other duties from 13th September to 13th December.

Dr. G. W. Pope served throughout the year as Medical

Officer of Health.

Dr. K. C. Yeo went on long leave on 25th March and

resumed duty

as Assistant Medical Officer of Health on 24th November.

Dr. J. M. Gray was appointed Assistant Medical Officer

of Health on 23rd February.

Mr. W. J. E. Mackenzie served throughout the year as

Colonial Veterinary Surgeon.

Mr. M. J. Reidy went on long leave on 18th April and resumed duty as Assistant Colonial Veterinary Surgeon on 2nd December.

Inspectors

(i) Establishments:-

No increase or decrease was made in the establish- ment. The numbers of Inspectors on duty on 1st Jan- uary, 1st July and 31st December were 46, 42 and 52 respectively (Senior Inspectors included).
