185. Taipo Road adjoining Castle Peak Road: Improvements. -The Contract for the improvements to Taipo Road at its june- tion with Castle Peak Road was awarded to Messrs. 191. Reconstruction of Kowloon City Wall.-No work was done under this head during the year.

192. Kowloon Tong Recreation Ground.-A portion of ground in Rutland Quadrant was levelled, turfed and equipped for use as a children's playground. A re-inforced concrete shelter with lavatories attached was erected. The Contract was awarded to Messrs. Nam Hing Co. on 3rd August, 1933, and the work was satisfactorily completed by the end of the year.

193. Kowloon Tsai Garden City Development (1st Section). -A contract amounting to $138,761.50 was let in March and work commenced immediately. By the end of the year 469,288 cubic yards of excavation had been removed, and the construction of the western side of the nullah in Waterloo Road had been completed. Minor storm-water drainage work was also executed.

Distributing Water Mains.-The following work was carried out under this head:-1,250 feet of 12" cast iron main were laid in Cheung Sha Wan Road, 160 feet of 10′′ cast iron main in Boundary Street, 855 feet of 8′′ cast iron main in Grampian Road, 450 feet of 6" cast iron main in Nga Tsin Lung Road, 380 feet of 6" cast iron main in Shek Ku Lung Road, 220 feet of 6" cast iron main in Carpenter Road, 180 feet of 6" cast iron main in Nga Tsin Wai Road, 150 feet of 6′′ cast iron main in Shek Kip Mi Street. 390 feet of 12" cast iron main were taken up in Cheung Sha Wan Road.
