which act was repealed by the Criminal Law Amendment Act,
1922, under section 1 of which the age of consent in these
cases also has been raised to 16.
9.
It therefore appears that whilst the Colony's
laws are not materially different to the law in ngland
up to a
comparatively recent date, our legislation is

10.
(1) To amend the Farriage Orimnce, 187, by
(2)
forbidding marriages under it of persons
under the age of 16.
to amend Ordinance No. of 1897 :-
(a) in section 5.
(i) by altering 10 to 13.
(ii) by deleting the second proviso.
(iii) by altering 3 months to 12 months
in the third proviso.
(b) in section 6 by altering 12 to 13 in
both subsections.
(c) in section 7 (2) by altering 13 to 16.
(d'in section 11 by altering 12 to 13 in
both sub sections. This section was
based on section 6 of the act of 1885.
(in section 11 by repealing the proviso.

ropooled by the Act of 1922.
