I have the honour to
report that I have
granted to the Honourable Sir H.E. Pollock, Kt., K.C., LL.D., member of the Legislative Council, leave of absence from the Colony as from 4th May, 1934, to 10th
January, 1935, and that I have appointed Mr. John Owen Hughes, Director of Messrs. Harry Wicking & Company, provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure to
be temporarily an unofficial member of the Council during his absence. Mr. Owen Hughes' appointment to membership of the Legislative Council on a previous occasion was reported in Sir Cecil Clementi's despatch No. 271 of
[5]ú 10157/27 30th May, 1927.

Unofficial Justices of the Peace.
