This ought, I think, to be put with the
general file relating to the University of Hong
Kong in case questions connected with provision
for Chinese studies are again referred to the
Advisory Committee as they were a year or two ago.
There is at present I think no question under this
head waiting consideration at this end. In the
absence of the papers and regulations to which
Mr. Smith refers in his letter to the Vice-Chancellor
it would be useless to attempt any comment. But
there is a good deal of interesting stuff in the
ietter.
I have already spoken to you about the substance
of Mr. Smith's second paragraph.
