With reference to ir Miles Lampson's despatch
No.761 of the 27th of May 1931 enclosing a copy of a
Hote to the Tai Chiao Fu on the subject of the revi-
sion of the working agreement for the Canton-Kowloon
Railway, I have the honour to forward herewith a copy,
in translation, of a Note which has now been received
from the wai Chiao ều embodying a communication from
the Ministry of Railways together with a schedule of
the main points on which the latter Ministry wish to
negotiate. It will be observed that Mr. Liang Yu-kao,
Counsellor to the inistry, has already been instruc-
ted to proceed to Canton and to take action in cooper-
ation with the Provincial Government.

On receipt of the ai Chiao Pu Note I tele-
graphed to the Governor of Hong Kong giving in detail
the points submitted for revision by the Ministry of
Railways, and requesting to be informed in due course
as to what reply His Excellency would wish returned.
Copy of the Note together with translation have now
been forwarded to Hong Kong by post. In the meantime I
an merely acknowledging receipt of the Note and stating
