Schedule "A”.
Rules for the provision of Coaches for Through Trains.
(1) The provision of passenger coaches to be supplied by each Section on all Through Trains shall be in the ratios as specified in Articles 18 and 19 of this Agreement.
(2) At the end of each calendar month's working the coach journeys for the month shall be ascertained and classified and any difference between the actual figures and the agreed quota shall be adjusted by the payment of hire to the Section supplying the excess coach journeys at the rate of five cents Hong Kong currency per coach mile.
(3) No demurrage shall be charged by either Section in respect of coaching stock used on Through Trains, but where coaches belonging to one Section are used with its consent on the other Section for purposes other than through traffic, then hire shall be paid by the borrowing to the lending Section at the rate of ten cents Hong Kong currency per coach mile.
Schedule "B".
Rules for the provision of Wagons for Through Trains.
(1) The provision of wagons to be supplied by each Section on Through Goods or Mixed Trains run primarily for the conveyance of Terminal Through Traffic shall be in the ratio of eighteen Chinese Sec- tion wagons to seven British Section wagons, one 30-ton wagon being taken as equivalent to two 15-ton wagons.
(2) At the end of each calendar month's working the loaded wagon journeys for the month in respect of Terminal Through Traffic shall be ascertained and classified and any difference between the actual figures and the quota shall be adjusted by the payment of hire to the Section supplying the excess wagon journeys at the rate of two cents per 30-ton wagon mile or one cent per 15-ton wagon mile.
(3) Wagons for Sectional Through Traffic shall be supplied in ac- cordance with the best possible traffic arrangements and each Section shall pay to the other Section hire for all wagons of the latter Section run upon the former Section at the rate of two cents per 30-ton wagon mile or one cent per 15-ton wagon mile.
(4) Wagons owned by one Section which are used for the convey- ance of goods to the other Section shall, provided demurrage is not in- volved and provided that suitable goods are available for transportation, be returned loaded. No hire can be claimed by either Section in respect of the use of one or more of its own wagons if the goods conveyed in such wagon or wagons can be carried in an adequate manner in a wagon or wagons owned by the Section to whom such goods are forwarded,
(5) No hire shall be paid by either Section in respect of wagons which are returned empty.
(6) Demurrage shall be paid in respect of every wagon detained more than 48 hours at the rates of five dollars per day or part thereof per 30-ton wagon and three dollars per day or part thereof per 15-ton
wagon.
(7) All rates quoted above shall be deemed to be in Hong Kong
currency.

Schedule "C”.
Customs Arrangements.
(1) Office and Godown accommodation for the examination and storage of goods carried by the Railway and for the payment of duties thereon will be provided by the Chinese Section at Shum Chun and at Tai Sha Tou, and by the British Section at Kowloon, at reasonable rents
to be mutually agreed upon between the two Administrations.
(2) The payment of duties required by the Chinese Maritime Customs shall be governed by the following conditions:-
(a) Dutiable goods leaving Kowloon for China by trains stopping at no intermediate station in the British Section shall pay Chinese Customs Import Duty at Kowloon prior to departure. (b) Dutiable goods arriving at Kowloon from China uncovered by Customs Documents shall pay Chinese Customs Export Duty at Kowloon prior to release.
(c) Dutiable goods leaving Kowloon or any intermediate station in the British Section by trains stopping at intermediate stations in the Chinese Section may pay Chinese Import Duty either at Kowloon or at Shum Chun.
(d) Dutiable goods leaving Shum Chun for intermediate stations in the British Section not covered by Customs Documents shall pay Chinese Export Duty at Shum Chun.
