I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of Your
Excellency's Note dated the 22nd September transmitting
two copies of the working Agreement for Through traffic
between the Chinese and British Sections of the Canton-Kowloon
?ailway signed by the Ministry of Railways, and requesting
that they be forwarded to the Government of Hongkong for
signature and retention. Your Excellency further requested
that the two copies of the Agreement which are in the hands
of the Hongkong Jovernment should, after signature, be trans-
mitted via his Majesty's Legation to Your sxcellency for
transmission to the Ministry of Railways.
I have the honour to state in renly that I am forward-
ing the two copies of the Agreement, enclosed in Your Excel-
lency's Note under acknowledgment, to His sxcellency the
Governor of Hongkong, and I am at the same time requesting
His Excellency to transmit to me his two copies of the Agree-
ment, duly signed. As soon as the latter are received by
His Majesty's Legation, they will be delivered to Your
Excellency's Ministry for transmission to the Ministry of
Railways as requested.
I avail myself of this opportunity to renew to Your
Axcellency the assurance of my highest consideration.
