Sir,

I have the honour to inform you that, subject

to your approval, I propose to grant to the Hong Kong

Chinese Civil Servants Club an area of approximately

10,300 square feet as shown coloured red on the plan

enclosed as a site for the erection of a club-house.

2.

The Particulars and Conditions of the Grant

are enclosed. It will be observed that under Condition

5 a Building Covenant of $20,000 has been fixed, and

that under the Special Conditions the use of the

building is restricted to the purposes of the Club.

The $20,000 will be subscribed by the members and

their friends.

3.

I consider it incumbent upon Government to

afford reasonable recreational facilities for its

employees, and I shall be glad to have your sanction

for the proposed grant.

The estimated value of the site is $20,600, i.e. $2 per square foot.
