At (2) on 92678/32 the creation of a second post of
Assistant Superintendent on a salary of £250-£445 was
approved.
Mr. Holdman has died, and Mr. Hynes (who is in
indifferent health) may be expected shortly to retire.
The post of Assistant Superintendent (£460-£560) is
therefore vacant and the post of Superintendent is
likely shortly to fall vacant. Had Mr. Holdman lived
he would have been the natural successor to Mr. Hynes.
The Governor recommends
a. (in paragraph 4) that the salary of the post of considered in connection with the 1955 Estimates with a crus to do, Superintendent be increase from (£600-£25-£700) to
(2650-225-2750), the financial position improse
b. (in paragraph 2) that the post of Senior
Assistant (held by Mr. Holdman at the time of his
death) be replaced by a post of Deputy Superintend ent
on a higher salary of (£500-£25-£600).
c. (in paragraph 3) that the second post of
now vacant
Assistant Superintendent ($4,000 $5,000) be replaced by a post of European Probationer on a salary of
$1,200-$150-$1,560.
