In continuation of our letter of the 10th April,
No. A/1139, I have the honour to enclose, for the information
of the Secretary of State, two copiesof the advertisement which
appeared in the "London Gazette" and the "Times" of the 13th
April, giving notice of the repayment of the Hong Kong 32%
Inscribed Stock, 1918/1943.
We are proceeding with the realization of the
investments held on behalf of the 31% Stock Sinking Fund,
the Public Works Loan Sinking Fund and the Surplus Funds;
and we estimate that we shall require a further sum of about
£225,000 to complete the repayment of the 32% loan on the
15th October.
