It shall be lawful for a European police officer or Interim sanitary inspector who has proceeded to any place in declaration accordance with Section 142 and notwithstanding inability of infected to obtain particulars, to serve an interim notice in writing, signed by him, declaring such place to be an infected place pending investigation by the Colonial Veterinary Surgeon and also to leave a police officer or sanitary inspector in the place pending the arrival of the Colonial Veterinary Surgeon.
