GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONGKONG, 6th March, 1934.
Sir,
With reference to paragraph 2 of your despatch 2. No.392 of 18th October, 1933, regarding the grant to the
St. John Ambulance Brigade, Hong Kong and China District, of an area of land, I have the honour to inform you that
in every lease of land in this Colony granted by the
Crown a provision is inserted to the effect that the
expression "the lessee" shall be deemed to include, where
the context so admits, the executors, administrators and
assigns of the lessee, or in the case of a corporation, its assigns.

2.
This provision, which forms clause 13 of the printed particulars and conditions of grant, was deleted
from the copy in respect of the area granted to the St. John Ambulance Brigade, enclosed in my despatch No.460
of 7th Septmber, 1933, in view of Special Condition (a)
(3) thereof which restricts assignment.
3.
The omission will, however, be remedied by the
definition of the lessee in the Crown Lease.
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
I have the honour to be,
Sir,
Your most obedient, humble servant,
In the
Governor, &c.,
SIR P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER, G.B.E., M.C., M.P.
