of a grant made elsewhere.
Full details of matters relating to the estate are sent
at the same time and the necessity for obtaining representa-
tion for the purpose of receiving the gratuity under section
16 of the Pensions Ordinance, 1932, where payable, is pointed
out.
Where the relatives so desire the Official Administrator
applies for the grant of letters of administration to himself
and in such event winds up the estate and remits the balance
to those entitled thereto.
Pending application for grant of representation to the
Official Administrator or any other person the Official
Administrator arranges for collection of any salary, refund
of contribution to Widows and Orphans Pension Fund, gratuity,
or other payments due from the Government to the deceased's
estate and submits an application for remission of the Official
Administrator's statutory commission on this part of the
estate.
3. In order to avoid deterioration caused by heat and
humidity clothing and other articles of a perishable nature
are sold immediately by auction, as also are bulky articles
the cost of shipment of which would be disproportionate to
their value.
Articles of a personal nature are retained so that the
relatives may express their wishes as to their disposal.
4. A detailed account of every administration
undertaken by the Official Administrator is sent to those
interested in the estate. Probate and Estate Duties in
accordance with statutory scales are payable and are shown
in this account.
