With reference to my note No.L 7450/1197/405 of December 28th, 1931, regarding the Hongkong erchant Shipping
Ordinance of 1893, I have the honour to inform you that
the Governor of Hongkong reports that the issue of new
regulations to replace Tables A and D of this Ordinance
awaits a final decision, regarding the application to the Colony of the Convention for the Baiety of Life at rea, 1929, the International Load Line Convention, and theimla Rules.

Various difficult questions regarding the application of the above mentioned Conventions and Fules are at present under consideration and it is not yet possible to indicate
how soon the final decision to which the Governor refera
will be taken.
