of the 27th March, on the subject of the sketches of Hong
They sound as if they

might be quite interesting.
Southorn is going on leave on June 7th,
and will be in London early in July, and I have asked him
to arrange with you to have a look at them and see whether
we can do a deal in the matter. We have a lot of pictures here which were given by Sir Paul Chater to the Colony, and
a lot of them are in Gov er ment House and in the Government
offices, but the idea is at some future date, when we have
a public building, to put them in, to collect them all in
one place. Apparently none of the sketches mentioned in the
list attached to your letter are referred to in the Chater
collection record.
