My dear Southorn,
I am sorry that I did not realise when
you called here this afternoon that the Hong
Kong sketches are actually here at the Colonial
Office. I had thought that we had returned them
to Sir Walter Hose.
Perhaps you woulu get
the Department to show them to you when you
are next here.
Meanwhile, I am letting Hose
know that you have arrived, and will have a look
at the pictures.
If you are disposed to like them on first
inspection, we could then consider the suggestion
that you made to me this afternoon about getting
the Crown Agents to have them valued.
(Sgd.)J.E.Shuckburgh.
Sir Wilfrid T. Southorn, K.B.E., C.M.G.
