to passages with those enjoyed by other
persons in the same department, by other
officers in similar departments outside
Hong Kong, and by other officers in
other departments in Hong Kong. In

I forwarded to you representations from
the Institute of Chemistry based upon a
comparison of the privileges which are
under the new regulations applicable to
Assistant Analysts with those enjoyed
by other professional officers in and
out of the Service, and upon the effect
which the new regulations are likely to
have on recruitment.

No. 393 of the 13th July you forwarded
a petition from Messrs. A.Jackson and
S.L.Tetley which is mainly directed
against the removal of the privilege of
first-class passages from officers who
have
