With reference to your telegram No.96
of 26th October, 1933, regarding the appointment of
an Engineer Surveyor for the Harbour Department,
I have the honour to enclose for your consideration
applications for appointment which have been received
from Mr. W. S. Smith, Mr. W. M. Wright and Mr. J. A.
Clark, respectively.

The Harbour Master reports that of these
applicants, Mr. Wright is not sufficiently qualified
as he has no motor endorsement to his certificate.
Mr. Clark is over 35 years of age. Mr. Smith has been
interviewed by the Government Marine Surveyor and is
considered by the Harbour Master to be the most
suitable candidate.
