He informed me that he would at once cable to Captain

Jackson on this subject, and requested that when I made

my report of this interview to the Colonial Office the

following procedure should be adopted, viz:-

That the Colonial Office should address a further

letter to the Air Ministry stating that: -

they had received the report of this meeting from me, and:

Sive the subject matter of the report, and

(3) ask that the same should be confirmed by the

Air Ministry.

After this decision had been arrived at, Colonel

Turner, Director of Works raised the point of the sale

of the triangular piece of land to the East South East

of Kai Tak Aerodrome, and stated that he felt that the

Hong Kong Government should sell this land to the Air

Ministry on favourable terms, observing that in the future

it might be required for further developments in the

Royal Air Force establishments in the Far East. I

replied that, as this land was outside the Hong Kong

Aerodrome area, it did not come within my jurisdiction
