this admission, while the occasions on which a
claimant asks for less than he would receive from a
court must be very rare. In that the Bill to some
extent restricts speculative actions against
Government, it is naturally unpopular in certain
circles.
The next objection is that no "rovision
is made for an appeal from the Judge. A very usual
objection from the legal fraternity;
hut es an erreal
to the Privy Council might easily take some years
before being finally disposed of, it is quite usual
in legislation of this description to make the Judge's
decision final.
The Governor annears willing to accent the
Chamber's amendment to section 6, and though I prefer
the present wording, it is not a matter of great
importance, and it might be wise not to arrear too
adamant in matters of small importance.
