HONGKONG,

15th September, 1933.

I have the honour to encuire when a

reply may be expected to my despatch lo.7 of the 6th January, 1933, on the subject of the occupation of an area at Sham Shui Po by the Military Authorities.

2.

1 may say that I recognize the liability of the Colony to provide adequate sites for the accommodation of its garrison and have suggested to the Military Authorities several alternative sites for this cantonment, but so far have been unable to secure any acceptance, with the result that the Colony has to face an indefinite continuance of the loss of revenue and obstruction to development involved in the occupation

of the present site.

I have the honour to be,

sir,

Your most obedient, humble servant,

Governor, &c.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
