The central figure was Britannia and on either side

of her were ranged Canada, Australia, New Zealand,

South-Africa, British India, Hongkong, an the Now

Territories. The whole made a very attractive tableau.

5. At the conclusion of the opening ceremony, the

Honourable Mr. J. P. Braga, the Chairman of the Fair

and Committee and the Honourable Mr. V. E. I henton,

Secretary of the Empire Day General Committee conducted

His excelleney on a tour round the various stalls.

I also accompanied the party.

6. The whole ground floor of the Peninsula Hotel

was divided into six sections and it was truly a fine

display. The sections were for New Territories

Produce, Industries, Domini na, Foultry, Flowers,

Motor Cars. The description of the various sections

which I give below has been condensed from the accounts

published in the "South China Morning Post".

The Industries section was sub-divided into 29

allotments for staging exhibita. The stalle, with their

respective musbers, were allocated to exhibitors

applying for them. The Sub-Committee was forced to

decline several late applications for space after all

the available reservations had been made.

The names of he exhibitors were as follows:-

Building materials.

Davie, Boag & Company, Limited.

Textile goods.

3. General Electric Company of China, Limited,

Mectric goods.
