I have the honour to submit a report upon the
Empire Products Fair held at the Peninsula Hotel,
Kowloon, Hongkong, on May 23rd, 1932, and on Empire
Day.
At the special invitation of the General Committer
I visited the Fair on the afternoon of May 23rd and
took part in the opening ceremony. A large crowd of
people were present when the fair was officially
opened by His Excellency Mr. V. T. Southorn, C.M.0.,
the Officer Administering the Government. The
introductory speech was delivered by the Honourable
Mr. J. P. Braga, the Chalman of the Fair Committee
and I endlose a copy of the speech which describes
the origin of and the organization of the Fair which
from modest beginninga developped into a very fine
exhibition.
3. I have also the honour to enclose a copy of
the speech made by His excellency, Mr. F. T. Southorn,
C.M.0., when declaring the Fair open.
4.
