It is proposed to make a start this year with the
reconstruction of the Upper Levels Police Station, the total
estimate for which is $220,000. The present building was
originally an old mission house erected more than 45 years ago
and is now in a very bad condition. Provision had been
made in the 1925 Estimates for a new station on a new site
and work had already been begun, when the whole of the front
of the site collapsed in the Po Hing Fong disaster. Since
then nothing has been done. It is now proposed to rebuild
the Station as a four storeyed building on the existing site.

The policy of adding to the Kowloon Hospital
as funds permit is continued by including provision for an
Outpatients' block. I need scarcely atrads the fact that
Kowloon is growing rapidly and the need for increased hospital
accommodation and improved facilities for the treatment of
outpatients is most urgent.
