A few days later lau again met Chui in Chater Road and
maid him a sum of $60. On that same day, lau got hold of a
man named Wong Nam Sheung (Number 12 on the list) for the
purpose of employing him to shoot Fung. Number 12, of course,
is actually named in the indictment as the man who fired the
fatal shot that killed Fung.
On the 8th March these two, Chui and Wang, went over
to Kowloon together and after a visit to the Nathan Hotel where
they located the room occupied by Fung and also, of course, at
that time occupied by the girl - no, only by Zung they
proceeded across the road and took a room number 203 on the first
floor of the Kam Toi "otel, from the verandah of which there
was a good view of the front entrance of the Nathan Hotel.
There Fong watched from the verandah and not long afterwards
called Chui out and Chui saw George Fung himself standing at
the bus stop which is just South, on the opposite side of the
road. Chui will tell you "ong went downstairs and circled
round Fung, obviously having a good look at him so he would
know him again. Yong then returned to that room, No. 203, and
Chui left him there, to do his work for the day, returning there
the same night or evening. On his return he found lau there,
in company with Fong, and after some conversation he left the
two there together.
The next day, March 9th, Chui went to No. 17 Man
Chung Fong this terrace on the map: "No, 17 ́ in mred thereon,
it ins lightly towards the eastern side of the terrace, and he
there interviewed the master of the tailor's shop that occupies
the front part of the premises, and arranged to rent the back
cubicle in that house.
On the next day, roh 10th, in company with the
master of the shon, Cheung Ha Mau, Chui went to a certain
furniture shop in Wanchai, hired certain furniture, paid one
month'a rent thereon, and it was moved into the cubicle that
same afternoon.
