undue familiarity with Fung but she succeeded in allaying his

suspicions. So matters carried on until February last when

the climax came. On the 21st February, 1932, the girl was at

Repulse Bay Hotel and while she was there an amah from 50 Village Road arrived with a message, in consequence of which she hurriedly left the "otel in accused's larger car, a

Studebaker. She came back by the Wongnoichong Sap and on the

way down the hill she met the accused driving in his Au st în

Seven Car No.4. The two cars stopped, accused got out, came

across and accused her of treachery ani ingratitude, he stripped

her of her jewellery and then proceeded with her in the car back

to No.50 Village Road.

hand over the rest of the jewellry he had given her, and having handed over she asked him to let bye-goneu be bye-gones and leave

her alone in future. The answer she got to that request was "I will never let you two live happily together;

"I will spend all my money in preventingit".

At this time, as you will learn later, the plot which

ended in Furg's death had already been hutched. lai and accused

had still occupied separate roome. Up to then, as i have already

indicated, he evidence will show that lai was a virgin,
