I may say that Len Kong (pager 69 to 73) did net

confirm Zimmern*r account of the prisoner's

agi tated behaviour on the night of the murder.

He had not the same opportunitjes of observation

að Zimmern, and he was a friend of the prisoner,

but he seemed a very fair witness.

For example,

he said (p.72) that he thought that he would have

heard the "death road" statement if it had bee

made.

Such a remark, however, would naturally be

made in a low tone, and might not be heard from the

back seat of even an Austin Seven. Lan ib Kong

did establish one thing, i,e., that the prisoner

took a strangely cireuitous route from the Kwong

Fai Ki to the Chui Hang Club at West Point (pages

40, 71, 107), which of course is one of Zimern's

instances of the prisoner's agitated and suspicious

behaviour.

9. It is difficult to understand why

the prisoner should have kept the second syringe

(yage 60) seeing that it was Christie who was to

use it on Jung, but I do not think that this con-

sideration is of much assistance towards arriving

at the truth.

10. The defence also remarked that it

was improbable that the prisoner would have „roposed

murder to Christie after a few hours acquaintance.

That is a quite good comment to make, but it seama

to me to be very for from decisive.

evidence.
