GOVERNMent house,

HONG KONG, 11th May, 1932.

19623 appli

Sir,

I have the honour to confirm Sir William Peel's telegram

No.79 of 13th April, 1932, and to forward particulars of the posts

of Chemistry Master and Froebel Mistress requiring to be filled in

1933.

2.

Mr. G.G. Edwards, who is put forward for consideration

in connection with the former post is the son of a master (lir.E.J.

Edwards) in the Education Department here and has already taken a

course in education at the Hong Kong University.

He is now

continuing his studies at Cambridge and if he graduates

successfully there, his knowledge of local conditions (together

with the above course) may be considered as making good any

deficiency in actual teaching experience.

3. The first of these vacancies will arise on the

retirement of Mr. G.P. de Martin, Inspector of English Schools,

who is now acting as Director of Education, and whose place as

Inspector is being filled by a master. The second results from the resignation of Mrs. Thomson (née Kitson) who passed to the temporary establishment on her marriage in December, 1928, and is

severing her connection with the department.

Suppl. 2nd incl. BIE.

Anos,

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
